VIDEOS & ANIMATION
This video is a senior thesis project that was done for 2015 graduation. The project is a short animation of a fly and a spider being caught. All the modeling, texturing, and animating was done by me in 3DS Max. The post-production work was done in Premiere Pro CS6. The short was meant to showcase a good majority of the skills I have developed while at University of Dubuque.
"Mr. Handy Robot Animation"
This very short animation was done just as a personal project to play around with rendering and modeling. I based this model off of Fallout's Mr. Handy. All the modeling and rendering was done in 3DS Max 2016 and the post production work was done in Adobe Premiere Pro.
"Attack on Earth"
"Attack on Earth" was based on the 1960's film, "The Day the Earth Stood Still." I wanted to capture that 1960's cheesy sci-fi film feel in the piece and feel I did that quite well. The scenes and objects were all modeled in 3DS Max and rendered with Mental Ray. Modeling, texturing, animation and post-production was all done by me over a two-week period. This is actually my most theme-related animation; most of the others were more showcase pieces. All post-production on this piece was done in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
"Parthenon Improvision Scene"
This piece was done as a class project to create a full scene of a building. I chose to do the Parthenon because during the spring of 2014, I went to Greece and got to see this "wonder of the world" in person. The scene was completely made in 3DS Max and rendered using Mental Ray. The modeling, texturing, animation, and post-production were done by me over a 3 month time span, and overall build time was around 70 hours plus an additional full week of rendering on 2 computers. The Parthenon in the video is completely to scale with the real world original. I looked up the measurements of the building, columns, roof, and pediment figures to complete the piece.
"Falling into Art"
The video below was made for a flash animation class. The theme of the class was falling, and so being a graphic design artist, I wanted the character to "fall into art." The piece was made for a 2 day art exhibit in downtown Dubuque, IA called Fall into Art. It was a frame-by-frame animation style to get the character to move like he did. While the animation was done in Flash CS6, the post production and scene combining was done in Premiere Pro CS6.
This is a short animation of a spaceship project that was done in Maya. The modeling, animation, and texturing was done by me. The model was a tutorial by Digitaltutors.com and the hanger was fully designed by me. This was a relatively entry level project and my first attempt at an animation. I really liked how the concept and modeling turned out for everything though.
"University of Dubuque Tech Building"
This piece was done as a final project for a class working with Trimble Sketchup. The project was to build, texture, and animate a building from campus. The modeling, texturing, and post production was all done by me. The modeling was done in Sketchup, and the post-production was done in Premiere Pro.
